Discovering the … Salty Prosecco!

Hi, I’m Simone, winemaker of the Martignago winery and today I will present you our Asolo Prosecco Superiore Extra Brut with zero residual sugars. The ideal wine to understand why we call our prosecco “Salty”

This wine is the zero point from which to start to understand all my wines, so you absolutely must not miss it …

You must know that the total absence of sugars in the bottle makes it perfect to convey the essence of our territory: As I always love to say, drinking this wine is like drinking a photo of Maser, which is the village where we grow all our vineyards, and this sparkling wine faithfully brings back in the glass the flavor given by our land and our hills: hills that during the year always provide us with that evening breeze perfect for the aromatic development of our grapes.

But let’s go and taste it …

On the nose

Lacking sugars, you will not feel the typical fruity predominance of a normal prosecco, and this will give you the opportunity to grasp all those nuances of my wines that normally exist but are less clear, such as aromas of aromatic herbs, stone and, why no, even some slight sulphurous notes.
This Extra Brut, therefore, will allow you to understand that behind an Asolo Prosecco there can be much more than you are used to perceiving.

In the mouth

You will find a salty, clear and decisive aroma, which will offer you a sip that is always satisfying, never cloying and with a long persistence. And I assure you that we are talking about a unique feature that our territory, if respected, can give us!

Based on what I have told you, perhaps you should have already imagined the various combinations … now I just want to give you some more tips and, as you know, you can always write or call me to evaluate together how to make the most of the characteristics of my wine …

In the meantime, I advise you to try this Asolo Prosecco with a savory aperitif , perhaps as we do it with a little Sopressa Trevigiana, our typical salami.
It is a wine, however, that can go further by also pairing with fish dishes , such as crustaceans and molluscs, with cured meats and aged cheeses , but also with a nice pizza with buffalo mozzarella or a more exotic sushi !

You just have to try it!
